Downstream Prophecy: What Serves The Current (free)
Join us for a contemplative workshop hosted by @folk.lounge to create a social textile with cross stitch embroidery exploring the natural rhythms of release and renewal. A practice of memory editing as we navigate seasonal transitions. As both an artist and community facilitator, Shagane Barsegian also known as Shagoh (she/her) will guide participants in creating a collaborative topography that captures our personal and cultural feelings about navigating change. Co-creators will layer their memory, intention, & vision to a flowing tapestry of stories. Rivers are natural editors, carrying some things downstream while depositing others on banks, carving new channels while filling old ones.

Talk For The Wende, In Linen and Lamplight: The Secret Lives of Slavic Needlework (free)
Join us for an intimate workshop with @folk.lounge, where we'll uncover the forgotten art of reading cloth like ancient text. In quiet rooms, Slavic women once transformed ordinary linen into powerful talismans, weaving protection and blessings into the very fabric of daily life.
We gather as they did—needles in hand, stories flowing—to learn their visual vocabulary of safety and hope. Each geometric pattern held instructions for calling rain, ensuring harvest, or blessing new love. The goddess Mokosh, spinner of fate itself, guided their fingers as they stitched cosmic mathematics into kitchen towels and wedding cloths.

Open Archives: Art, Access, And The Stories Of Los Angeles Panel (free)
Join us for an engaging panel with The Wende Museum, The Huntington & Museum Of Latin American Art moderated by @folk.lounge, to explore how the public can access and engage with LA's rich archival treasures. Panelists will share initiatives that bridge the gap between institutional collections and community access, discuss how changing urban dynamics are reshaping their missions, and offer practical guidance for artists, teachers, students, and curious citizens on navigating these cultural goldmines. From surprising recent discoveries to upcoming digitization projects, the panel will illuminate pathways for meaningful engagement with our shared cultural heritage and inspire attendees to become active participants in preserving and interpreting LA's history.
