level 1 - Inspiration & ExplorationA morning of creative connection and cultural celebration
Join us every four Saturdays for rejuvenating mornings with @folk.lounge, set in some of Los Angeles’ most inspiring locations. Come to see creativity, community, and cultural storytelling come alive through needle and thread. Whether you're just beginning or have been stitching for years, you're invited to bring a project or start something new, and immerse yourself in a circle that nurtures both skill and soul.
Pasadena Heritage, Pasadena CA
Founded in 1977 to safeguard architectural and craft traditions, this organization opens doors to living history through workshops, walking tours, and the annual Craftsman Weekend. Archives document how climate, patronage, and cultural exchange produced innovations in furniture, ceramics, and landscape — preservation as active study. We meet inside through the front doors in a large well lit hall.
“Every thread carries a whisper from the past and the light from the future. I created Folk Lounge to connect generations through shared spaces where we can learn, create, and celebrate culture together. With roots in Armenian and Russian culture, I’m drawn to the grammar of ornament across cultures. As I deepen in my practice in textiles, art, illustration and craft, I knew it would be far more joyful as a collective experience.”
Shagho is a multidisciplinary design leader, artist, and cultural practitioner who works at the frontiers of innovation and community. She is also a founder of Folk Lounge, hosting Embroidery Socials around LA.
