Urban Sanctuaries: Plaza Las Fuentes, Pasadena CA
Spanish arches and cascading water define this hidden courtyard oasis, designed by Lawrence Halprin in 1989. Hand-painted tile fountains ripple against terracotta walls while Mediterranean plants frame intimate gathering spaces — a distinctly Californian poetry of place. We meet by the central fountain with the colorful ceramic tiles & fish sculpture.
