weekly program | 1h | every Wednesday
level 3 - Portfolio & Authenticity

Join us every Wednesday for a rich studio with @folk.lounge to develop larger bodies of work, explore material culture & traditions on the LA River. The interdisciplinary year long program builds on studying cultures, archives, symbolism, & mythologies across time with elements of research, public speaking, publishing or production.

Whether you are an artist or a professional, grow your impact as a cultural worker through meaning, structure, critique and networking.

Every thread carries a whisper from the past and the light from the future. I created Folk Lounge to connect generations through shared spaces where we can learn, create, and celebrate culture together. With roots in Armenian and Russian culture, I’m drawn to the grammar of ornament across cultures. As I deepen in my practice in textiles, art, illustration and craft, I knew it would be far more joyful as a collective experience.

Frogtown Arts is a nonprofit rooted in Elysian Valley, along the Los Angeles River — one of the few places in LA where art, community, and place-making have been quietly inseparable for nearly two decades. Through festivals, free classes, film, and year-round programming, they hold space for artists and neighbors alike.
